Ala Marie Walters, 84 of Rochelle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, friend and church member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at her home. She was born on March 2, 1927 in Walnut, IL, to Glenn Everett and Viola
Gertrude (Smith) Fisher. She was the eldest of two children. Marie grew up in Walnut, graduated from Walnut High School and married Earl Delhotal on July 24, 1946. Marie and Earl had four children and raised their family in Dixon, IL. On July 16, 1966, Marie married George E. Walters on July 16, 1966 in Sycamore, IL and they had one son. She worked for Eaton Co. In Rochelle for almost 25 years. Memberships include The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sycamore and she volunteered at her church and also with the Rochelle Community Hospital Auxiliary. Marie was preceded in death by her father Glenn, mother Viola, and husband George on Dec. 23, 2007.
Survivors include daughter: Dawn (Robert) Taylor of Dixon; sons: Alan (Angie) Delhotal of Rock Falls, IL, James (Janelle) Delhotal of Amboy, IL; daughter: Sharie (Paul) Bowman of Auburn, WA; son: George (Silene) Walters of Rochelle; brother: David Fisher of Parogould, AR; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle on Wed. Aug. 3, 2011 from 6 to 8:30 PM. Another visitation will be held at the Church of Christ of Latter- Day Saints, 675 Fox Ave. in Sycamore at 10:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow at 11:15 AM
with burial at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle at 2:30 PM.
