Alan B. King, 56, of Rochelle passed away in his home September 15 surrounded by his family. Al was born February 26, 1950 to Lloyd and Alice King. Al married Mary (Meskimen) King on January 28, 1978. He owned and operated Al King Automotive for many years. He was devoted to his family, his business, and drag racing. Al was a soft-spoken man who, in all aspects of his life, was known for his honesty and integrity.
1. Al is survived by his wife, Mary, of Rochelle; children, Stephanie (Sean) Kalley, of Normal, IL and Michael King, of Rochelle. He is also survived by his mother, Alice Edith (Casey) King, of Creston, IL and his four brothers, Ronald King, of Creston, IL; Wayne (Deanne) King, of DeKalb, IL; Gerald (Lisa) King, of Esmond, IL; and Francis (Susan) King of Lakewood, CO. Al is preceded by his father Lloyd A. King.
A funeral service will be held at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dr. James Tilley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established for Ogle County Hospice with the family's deepest gratitude.
