Alan D. Thor, 70, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015 in Oregon, Illinois. Alan was born November 28, 1944 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Robert P. and Arlene E. (Schewe) Thor. He married Lynn A. Braithwaite on November 26, 1966 in Wausau, WI. Alan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1972. He was employed as a drafting instructor at Rochelle Township High School from 1972 to 1989. From 1989 to 2007, he was a computer aided drafting instructor at Kishwaukee Community College. He retired from teaching in 2007.

Alan is survived by his wife, Lynn; sisters-in-law: Nancy (Dave) Topp, Jane (Gary) Ceranski and Sue Thor; cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randall Thor.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating.
