Obituary

Albert E. Weitz, 86, of Rochelle, IL, passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at his home. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was born on May 13, 1922 in Fisk, WI, the son of John and Elizabeth (Felker) Weitz. Albert married Eleanor M. Marquard on Jan. 28, 1942 in Waupaca, WI and she preceded him on April 9, 1986. He was also preceded by a daughter: Joan Carol Weitz and he was the last of 11 children. Albert served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was a linotype operator and worked for Rochelle Printing, Cable Brothers and Caron International before retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and VFW Post 3878 in Rochelle.

Survivors include his daughter: Bonnie (James) Lynch of Rockford, grandson: Todd (Laura) Britnell; and 3 great grandchildren: Jared White, Joshua Britnell and Morgan Britnell, all of Rockford. Step grandson: John (Betty) Brinkmeier of Mountain Home Ark.; 3 step great grandchildren; Erica, Matthew and Jessica.

Services will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park Chapel in Oshkosh, WI on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 with a visitation at 11:00 AM and funeral at 12 noon. Visitation will be at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., in Rochelle, IL, on Wed., Feb. 18th from 5 to 7 pm. Burial at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery in Oshkosh, WI. In lieu of Flowers: Memorials can be made to the family.
