Alice "Weedie" Louise Plumley, age 75, of Rochelle, passed away on Sunday, Oct.14, 2007
at her home after a long illness surrounded by her family. She was born on Oct. 14, 1932 in Rochelle, IL, the daughter of Menzo "Manny" and Annabelle (Bucher) Brummer. She graduated from Ashton High School in 1950. Weedie was united in marriage to Donald O. Plumley on September 19, l954. To this union, were born 3 sons: Randall Lee, Steven Jay and Gregg Alan. She worked many years in Rochelle for both Doctors George Laubach and Gary Hollonbeck.
Weedie was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling, but her real passion in life was her family.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Weedie will be remembered
for her compassion and loyalty. She always stood behind her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Manny and Annabelle Brummer.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Don of Rochelle, and 3 sons: Randy and Robin (Burton)Plumley of Rochelle, IL; Steve and Ann (Wolf) Plumley of Hoffman Estates, IL, and Gregg and Marcy (Sommer) Plumley of Carol Stream, IL; seven grandchildren: Angela, Matthew, Sarah, David, Megan, Rachel and Kristen; one great grandchild: Faith; a sister: Chris (Frank) Munda of Freeport, IL and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank all members of the Ogle County Hospice Team; the nurses, health aides, social workers, caregivers and volunteers for their continued support and unwavering friendship.
Funeral Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Wednesday Oct. 17th at 1:30 PM
with Rev. Steve Woita. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:30 at Unger-Horner on Wednesday
prior to the service. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials can be made to Ogle County Hospice.
