Alice Lee Taylor, age 87, passed away at the Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center with her family at her side. Alice was born on October 28, 1923 in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of Claude and Irene Prince Martin. She married Donald C. Taylor on June 29, 1942 in Jackson, MO, he preceded her in death on December 23, 1983.
She grew up working on the farm, worked for Stokely-Van Camp and retired after working for over 35 years at Caron International. Alice was a homemaker who loved gardening, canning, and puzzle books. She is also preceded in death by her parents, 11 siblings, and her stepfather, Walter Carson.

Survived by her children: Joyce (Tom) Waldon of East Peoria, Carolyn (Mike) Dyer of Rochelle, Donald W. (Janet) Taylor of Rochelle, Liz (Mike) Anning of Rochelle, and Sue Rowley of Ashton.
13 grandchildren: Joseph Robert Miles, Mitchell Lee Miles, Shannon Dee Miles, Jason (Amy) Dyer, Bryan (Crystal) Dyer, Matt (Corrie) Dyer, Shane C. Taylor, Deanna Dawn Reynolds, Tracy L. (Bruce) Elder, Troy J. Anning, Jennifer (Tony) Sprague, Chad Summers, Derek Rowley; and 17 Great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle with Pastor Greg Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 - 8 PM.
Memorials to Ogle County Hospice or to the donor's choice.
Burial at the Trinity Memory Gardens.
