Rochelle

Allen L. Swegle, 82, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Rochelle, Illinois. Allen was born on April 4, 1940 to Donald and Edna (Bothe) Swegle in Rochelle. He worked for Del Monte for 37 years.

He was an avid collector of farm toys and replica cars. He loved listening to old radio show broadcasts and was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan; thankfully got to see a Cubs' World Series winner during his lifetime. He bowled in leagues most of his adult life.

Allen is survived by his sister, Carol Marie Dunn of Sapulpa, OK; nephew, Steven (Rose) Tollison of Sapulpa, OK; two nieces: Sherry (Richard) Templeton of Bangor, ME and Shelley (David) Mitchell of Locust Grove, OK; and great nephew and niece, Dalton and Sierra Sasser of Tulsa, OK.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry and Melvin Swegle.

The visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 2, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 803 Paddock Ave., Ashton. The funeral will follow at 11:00 A.M., Friday with Pastor Joan Scheffler officiating. Burial will be at the Ashton Cemetery in Ashton.
