Ashton

Alvera D. Forney, 84, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Franklin Grove. Alvera was born November 3, 1929 to Jess and Mary Ann (Griffith) Partington in Murphysboro, Illinois. She married Ray J. Forney January 1, 1950 in Dixon, Illinois. Alvera worked for the Ashton High School and Ray J. Forney Inc. as the secretary for each place. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Ashton. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita J. Mahaffey, on September 19, 2004 and two brothers: James and Patrick Partington.

Alvera is survived by her husband, Ray, 3 grandchildren: Kyle Mahaffey, Megan Mahaffey and Kirsten Mahaffey; 2 brothers: John (June) Partington of Harmon, IL and Jesse (Ronda) Partington of Dixon, IL; 4 sisters: Lila Lee (John) Burhenn of Franklin Grove, IL, Betty (Edwin) North of Dixon, IL, Janice (Arlan) Ayers of Chandler, AZ and Joyce (Duane) Burkhart of Dixon, IL and sister-in-law, Laurita Partington of Dixon, IL.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the United Methodist Church of Ashton with Pastor Sang Hun Han officiating. The visitation will be 12:00 - 1:45 P.M. Burial is at the Ashton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Ashton.
