Alverta Bradbury, 97, formerly of Rochelle, passed away at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Thursday, February 21, 2013. She was born February 14, 1916 in Leland, IL, the daughter of George and Edna (Miller) Campbell. Alverta married Glendon Tucker on September 25, 1950 in Anchorage, Alaska. Glendon passed away on April 24, 1974. Alverta then married Harold Bradbury on August 12, 1978 in Albuquerque. He preceded her on June 2, 1995. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Holcomb Chapter, the Rochelle Women's Club and a member of the Rochelle United Methodist Church. Alverta was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Baca in 1984, two brothers: Howard and Lawrence Campbell and three sisters, Irene Pratt, Sally Richards and Martha Brown.
Alverta is survived by two grandchildren: Amanda Hall and Heather ONeil and one great granddaughter, Lily Hall of Phoenix, Arizona, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at the Unger- Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Cindy Marino officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the funeral at the funeral home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL. Burial is at Lawnridge Cemetery, Rochelle.
Memorials will be to the Rochelle United Methodist Church.
