ARCHIE D. GASTON, age 89, of Rochelle Died on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Oregon Healthcare Center in Oregon. He was born on July 25, 1918 in Jefferson County, IL, near Mt. Vernon, the son of Charles D. and Della J. Branson Gaston. Archie married Irene Law Dewey on February 27, 1942 in Rochelle, she preceded him on January 9, 2004.
Also preceded by 6 sisters Zelpha Pretzsch, Geneva Brown, Connie Hamby, Ethel Gaston, Marie Powell and Louise Crawford.

Archie worked as a photo engraver for many years at Cable Printing in Mt. Morris, IL
He served in U.S. Army during WW II and belonged Rochelle V.F.W. Post 3837, American Legion and Rochelle Moose Lodge also a former active member of the Freeport Elks Club.

Surviving are is 3 children a son Lamont (Veronica) Gaston of Oregon, IL and 2 Sisters Diana Williams of Ventura, CA and Camille (Rob) Thomsett of New York, NY . 1 brother Bill (Helen) Gaston of Rochelle and 1 sister Lovell McCormick of Joliet, IL.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008 2:00 p.m. at Unger-Horner funeral Home 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle, IL with visitation from 1 p.m. to service time.
