Arlene R. Chidley, 83, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 in Franklin Grove, Illinois. Arlene was born on April 11, 1934 to Fred and Edna (Hattendorf) Redeker in Schaumburg, IL. She married Kent Chidley on October 22, 1955 in Palatine, IL. The role Arlene enjoyed most was being a farm wife and a stay-at-home mom. She also enjoyed her time as a CNA at Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and working in the Rockford area in home health care.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kent of Rochelle; two children: Kevin (Lisa) Chidley of Rochelle and Michele Barrett of Spring Grove, PA; two brothers: Fredrick (Jeanette) Redeker of Huntley, IL and Glenn (Beth) Redeker of Elgin, IL; sister, Lois (Arnold) Goebbert of Arlington Heights, IL; six grandchildren: Andrew (Danielle Hughes) Chidley, Matt (Josie) Mitchell, Sara Mitchell, Kenneth Ness, Alison Larison and Taylor Martin; three great grandchildren: Chase, Jack and Camryn and a baby due in June and many nieces and nephews. Also her special caregiver, Melinda Gocken.

The visitation will be from 2:00 - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating.
