Arlene G. Herrmann, 88, of Rochelle passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Rochelle Community Hospital with her family by her side. Arlene was born October 26, 1924, the daughter of Harry and Erma (Cromwell) Sweger in Triumph, IL. She married John J. Herrmann Jr. November 27, 1943 in Rochelle. John preceded her in death on April 20, 2000. Arlene was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Jamie Joy Herrmann, brother, Ralph Sweger, sisters: Lila Rinehart and Doris Voss; brother-in-law, Jacob Rinehart and sister-in-law, Kathryn Herrmann.

Arlene is survived by two sons: Richard (Sue) Herrmann of Clinton, IA and Duane (Phyllis) Herrmann of Oregon; two daughters: Kathi (Paul) Lieving of Rochelle and Andrea (John) Fletcher of Rochelle; 7 grandchildren: Sara (Jay) Osborne, Amy (Scott) Seebach, Doug (Anne) Lieving, Brett (Brenda) Herrmann, Erin Levan, David (Eilene) Herrmann and Doug (Janelle) Herrmann; 13 great grandchildren: Kyle, Allison, Lydia, Savannah, Alexandra, Adabelle, Avery, Kristen, Zachary, Corrina, Anntina, Kevin and Sarah; one brother: Harry (Sheila) Sweger of Kentucky; 2 sisters: Ruth Dalton of Dixon and Patricia (Robert) Stehl of Franklin Grove and two sister-in-laws, Cindy Sweger of Chana and Virginia Cartier of Cypress, CA.

The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle. The visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 8 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Village of Progress.
