Arlene M. Kissick, age 78, of Rochelle, passed away on Wed. Jan. 3, 2007 at Rochelle Community Hospital. She was born on Sept. 22, 1928, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Frank and Hazel (Pearson) Englin. She married Earl Edwin Kissick on May 3, 1950 in Rockford, IL and he preceded her on Dec. 22, 1978. She was also preceded by a son: Dennis in 1975; her parents: Frank and Hazel Englin; 2 brothers: Frank and Gene Englin; and a sister: Jenny Sheley.

She had been employed previously by Swift until 1980 and then retired from Eaton Controls in 1988. Arlene was a member of the VFW Post 3878 and the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Survivors include her children: daughter: Sonja Byars and son: Ed (Jan) Kissick both of Rochelle; 5 grandchildren: Krista (Scot) Watson, Erica Kissick, Tara (Grant) Manning, Jerritt Boehle and Bret (Tracy) Johnson; 6 great grandchildren: Bailey, Broc, and Denton Johnson; Gabe Boehle, and Jenna and Gage Watson; 2 sisters: Shirley (Ron) Lundvall and Betty (Bill)
Robison both of Loves Park, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Jan. 6th, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle, with Rev. Jon Hutchison officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, from 11 to 1 PM at Unger-Horner. Burial will be at Steward Cemetery.
