Obituary

Arlene Prentice, 92, of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at her daughter's home in Davis, IL. She was born on May 3, 1916 in rural Creston, IL, the daughter of Edgar "Eddie" and Alice (Vesta) Halsne. Arlene married Milo Prentice on Oct. 7, 1939 in Ames, IA and he preceded her in death on April 25, 1997. Also preceded in death by a daughter: Carol J. Friedlander and 2 brothers: Burton and Marvin. She retired from Caron International in 1978; was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle for over 50 years, former member of the Women of the Moose and associate member of the VFW. She loved her family, especially her only grandchild: Laurel. She and Mike loved music and were beautiful dancers. They danced often with a wonderful group of friends fondly called "The Gang".

Survivors include a daughter: Judith Sweet (Tom) Ackland of Lake Summerset, IL; Granddaughter: Laurel E. Freidlander of Granada, Hills, CA; special nephew and nieces: Janice, Jim, Tami, Kris, Jane and many others.

Services will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 at 11:00
AM with Rev. Dr. James Tilley, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Lawnridge cemetery in Rochelle. A memorial fund has been established to Northern Illinois Hospice.
