Obituary
Arthur C. Carlson Jr., age 77 of Rochelle, IL passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006 at his home. He was born in Chicago on Nov. 18, 1928, the son of Arthur C. And Elsie T. (Greenberg)
Carlson. On Feb. 23, 1952, he married Vivian A. Hellstrom in Chicago. He graduated from
IIT in 1968.
Arthur was in sales and retired in 1996 from Service Filtration in Northbrook, IL. He was an active member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle, Loyal Masonic Lodge #1007 in Skokie, IL, Horicon Masonic Lodge #244 in Rochelle, Medina Shrine and former active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Park Ridge, IL. Arthur was involved in his community throughout his life. He was one of the founding members of the Skokie Junior Chamber of Commerce and was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years. In Rochelle he served Meals on Wheels, was a mentor at Rochelle Township High School and went to Kishwaukee College to become a Master Gardener. His hobbies were fishing, gardening, spending time with friends and family, and he enjoyed traveling the United States and across the world with his wife Vivian and their many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian of Rochelle, 2 sons: John (Sharon) Carlson of Green Oaks, IL
and Richard (Katherine) Carlson of Rochelle, 2 daughters: Linnae (Bruce) Anderson of Rochelle and Jane (James) Szabo of Des Plaines, IL, and 11 grandchildren: Michael Randall, Britt and Seth Anderson, Anna and Alex Szabo, Clint, Lucas, Heather, Brittany, Daniel and Abigail Carlson.
Funeral Services will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Rev. Steve Dow on
Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at 10:30 A. M. Visitation will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home
on Monday, Oct. 16th , from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 8 P.M. There will also be a visitation at the Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home in Glenview, IL, on Sunday, Oct 15th, from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. with a Masonic Service at 5 P.M.
Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle, IL and memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Rochelle, Shriner's Hospital for Children, or DeKalb Co. Home Health Care.
