Arthur Dean Erickson, 61, of Creston, Illinois, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Art was born on January 17, 1957 to Clarence and Mary (Shook) Erickson in DeKalb, IL.

Art was a loving father and friend. He enjoyed watching and playing sports. He was a huge Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards, listening to country music, and riding his golf cart. He loved to sit in his garage mahal with his friends. Art worked as a meat cutter for Headon's Meats and Eagle Foods for 27 years. He was also married to Lanet Villa-Erickson.

Art is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Erickson of Rochelle; siblings: Connie (Dean) Holliday, Marcia (Jerry) Halverson, Lindy Erickson, Pat (George) Beier, Paul (Joanne) Erickson, Kathy (Jim) Woolbright; sister in-law, Diane Erickson; many loving nieces, nephews, aunts and extended family and his best companion, Walter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Erickson; and brothers: Alan and infant, Richard Erickson.

A special thank you to caring neighbor, Ken Augsburg and Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, for their loving care and support. Also thank you to the Unger-Horner Funeral Home for all of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 16 ^th at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. Funeral services for Art will be at St. John's Lutheran Church126 E. South Street, Creston on Saturday, March 17th at 2 P.M. with Chaplain Judy Williams officiating. Art will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston, Illinois.
