Barbara A. Dodson, 75, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at her home in Rochelle, Illinois.  Barb was born on January 23, 1948 to Earl W. and Esther L. (McClain) Hammond in Rochelle.  She graduated from Rochelle Township Highschool and then worked for many years at Eaton Corporation in Rochelle.

In retirement, Barb had some physical limitations so she enjoyed watching her favorite "oldies", The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie.  She also loved watching the movies Dancing with Wolves, Cry Baby, Dirty Dancing and Titanic. She could also be found keeping her mind sharp by playing games on Facebook.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Erika (Jacob Ussery) Robertson of Rochelle; two grandchildren: Taylor and Cameron Robertson; two brothers: Larry (Mary) Hammond, and Bill Hammond; two sisters: Beulah Skelt, and Dorothy (LaVerne) Johnson; many nieces and nephews and her favorite four-legged buddy, Marley Jo.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her two sisters, Sandra, and Carol Goatcher and four brothers, triplets: Howard, Harold and Harlen, and John Hammond.

The visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle.  The funeral service will follow at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.  Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
