IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara A
King
September 17, 1950 – December 25, 2025
Barbara A. King, 75, left this earth to be with her savior Jesus Christ Thursday, December 25, 2025. After a six year battle against cancer, Barb peacefully passed at her home. Barb was born on September 17, 1950 to Jesse M. (Burgett) Oliver in Joiner, Arkansas. On March 16, 1987, she married Paul Roger King. She and Paul lived happily on their farm, hosting countless gatherings and holidays with family and friends through the years.
Barb was an avid gardener and nature lover watching birds was one of her many favorite things. Watching her flower and vegetable garden produce blooms and food was a favorite hobby. Many a hot summer day was spent with her canning and preserving bountiful harvests with her girls. Turning the garden bounty into delicious meals was something she was passionate about. Bringing the family together around the table always filled her heart with such joy.
At her table not only did she fill your belly, she also filled your ears with lessons from the Bible. Barb's faith was at the heart of her daily life. Barb especially loved to teach the little children about the Lord, at her home, and as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Barb's love of children made her a "Mom" or a "Granny" to many. She was always ready to protect, feed, teach, or scold any child like they were her own. Her absence will be greatly felt by all of her kids no matter their age.
Barb is survived by her husband, Paul of Rochelle; four children: Steven (Sarah) King of Anaheim Hills, CA, Teresa (Shane) Davis of Amboy, IL, Cheryl (Ron) Fasulo of Jonesboro, AR and Cindy (Tory) Dexter of Rochelle; brother, Larry Oliver; two sisters: Patricia Nicholas and Joyce Terry; 15 grandchildren: Megan De La Torre, Gary Korte, Aidan Korte, Charlotte McGraw, Carter Korte, Lainey Davis, Madison De La Torre, Danny De La Torre, Louis King, James King, Charles King, “baby boy” King, Brittany Fasulo, Tyler Fasulo and Justin Higgs and four great grandchildren: Aubrey Goshko, Claire De La Torre, Kane Hathcoat and Xane Dexter.
Barb is preceded in death by her son, Charles De La Torre; brother, Johny Oliver and two sisters: Judi Ramirez and Nancy Underwood.
Cremation care has been provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home of Rochelle. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
