Barbara W. Olson 88, of Rochelle died on Tuesday Jan. 27, 2009 at the Provena Cor Mariae Center in Rockford, IL. She was born Nov. 22, 1920 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of Earl and Genevieve Jacobs Welch. Barbara married Glenn G. Olson Sept. 10, 1949 in Malta, IL. He preceded her on July 26, 2000. Barbara taught in Erie, IL and then at the Rochelle Township High School prior to raising her family. Member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Rochelle. She is also preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Priscilla Finley, and her son-in-law Gregory Anderson on May 7, 1998.

Survived by her son: Mark D. Olson of Rochelle
daughter: Rebecca J. Anderson of Rockford.
3 grandchildren: Stephanie Gillis, Jennifer (Matt) VanOstrand, and David (Dawn) Gillis; and a brother: David Welch of Aurora, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday Jan. 29, 2009 at First United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Jim Tilly. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the Church. Memorials to First United Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in Lawnridge Cemetery, Rochelle.
