Barney Ray Roberts, age 76, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on December 28, 1938 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clare William and Nellie Lenore Miller Roberts. He married Jo Ellen Marie Hintzsche on May 11, 1996 in Rochelle. Barney was an industrial manager for Country Gas in Crystal Lake, IL. Barney was an avid Packers Fan. He also loved to fish, play lottery tickets, and watch western movies. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Barney is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Marion Roberto and Betty VanWinkle, and 2 brothers: Pete and Mike Roberts.

Survived by his wife, Jo Ellen Roberts of Belvidere; his son, Michael Roberts of Byron, 2 daughters: Anna (Kevin) Casey of Chandler, AZ, Tricia (Don) Certain of Cottonwood, AZ; brother, Daniel Roberts of Belvidere, sister, Sue Smith of Belvidere, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, mother-in-law, Evelyn Hintzsche, brother-in-law, John (Lauren) Hintzsche of Lindenwood, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Unger Horner Funeral Home, 400 6th St., Rochelle, IL, with Rev. Joe Barefield officiating.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5 - 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of America, American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
