Bernard R. Kingsbury, 91 of Kings, passed away on Wed. Nov. 17, 2010 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL. He was born on June 30, 1919 in Madrid, Iowa to Ralph and Gladys (Johnson) Kingsbury. Bernard married Mary Rita Duffy on April 23, 1946 and she
preceded him on March 31, 1996. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Latola Snook
and Marie Wiltse; and 2 brothers: Ralph and James Kingsbury. He was a rural mail carrier for many years in the Kings / Davis Junction area. Bernard also farmed and worked in Rockford as a machinist prior to retiring. He was very proud to be a WWII Navy Veteran. Life member of the Rochelle V.F.W. Post 3878, and member of the Stillman Valley American Legion.
Survivors include daughters: Nancy Henna of Rochelle and Joann (Scott) Polzin of Appleton, WI; sons: Jordan (Juana) Kingsbury of Lindenwood, IL and Mike Kingsbury of Kings, IL;
brother: Charles (Fritzie) Kingsbury of Valparaiso,IN; 2 sisters: his twin: Bernetta DeShazo
of Rochelle and Ruth Ann Fell of Rockford, IL
15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren
Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Steve Dow officiating. Visitation at Unger-Horner in Rochelle on Friday, Nov. 19th from 4 to 7 PM. Burial at White Rock Cemetery with Military Services by VFW Post 3878.
