Bernice E. Hay, age 92, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wed. Dec. 12, 2007 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born on Oct. 12, 1915 in Princeton Minnesota
the daughter of Frederick and Camilla (Borgen) Iverson. Bernice married Robert Scott Hay on Sept. 10, 1933 in Geneva, IL and he preceded her on May 8, 2003. Their early years of marriage were spent in Rochelle before moving to Rockford. Bernice was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church and was employed by J. L. Clark for many years. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law: Donald W. Harris in 2004; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
Survivors include a son Robert J. (Violet) Hay of Rochelle; 2 daughters: Barbara Harris of Watersmeet, MI and Marilyn K. Hay of Rockford, IL 6 grandchildren: Scott (Pamela) Harris, Susan (Derek) Kowalski, Stephen (Carrie) Harris, Connie (James) McAnly, Craig Hay and Nicole Stevens and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 18, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church in Rockford with interim Pastor Dale Johnson. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
