Bernice K. Mueller, age 86, of Rochelle, passed away at Rochelle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006. She was born on Jan. 9, 1920 in Markesan, WI, the daughter of Louis and Lillian (Hahn) Lueptow. She atttended and graduated from School in Markesan. She married Lawrence Mueller on June 15, 1938 in Neshkoro, WI. They made their home in Markesan, WI until 1957 when they moved to Rochelle.
Bernice was employed for 26 years at the First National Bank and Trust Co. of Rochelle. She
was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Rochelle; a charter member of Business and Professional Women of Rochelle, and a member of Homemakers Clubs for over 50 years in Wisconsin and Illinois. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Lawrence on April 29, 2003, a brother: Gerald Lueptow and a granddaughter: Alexia Mueller in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter: Carol (Robert) Elliott of Rochelle; 2 sons: Dwight (Vicky) Mueller of Rochelle and Dr. Michael (Bonnie) Mueller of Huntsville, AL; a sister: Doris
Degener of Markesan, WI; 5 grandchildren: Kevin ( Lucia ) Elliott, Kandace Cowles Larissa Mueller,
Tamara Mueller, Michael Mueller II and 3 great grandchildren: Gavin, Denneen and William Elliott.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rochelle, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark Nordman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 AM prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ogle County Hospice, or to Rochelle Community Hospital Memorial Fund.
