Bernitta Ann Patterson, 71, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.

Bernitta was born February 7, 1941 in Blodgett, Missouri, the daughter of Jesse and Vernitta (Sitzes) Johnson. She married Clyde Patterson June 22, 1963 in Rochelle, Illinois. Bernitta worked for Caron International in Rochelle. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Gerald Lee Williams, in 2011, sister, Thelma Grace, in 2009 and her brother, Wayne Johnson.

Bernitta is survived by her husband, Clyde; two sons: Clyde (Priscilla) Patterson of Rochelle and Billy Ray (Susie) Williams of Rogers, Arkansas; three daughters: Clara (Tom) Buri of Davenport, Iowa, Constance Wirtz of Salina, Kansas and Kathy (Jesse) Davis of Rochelle; five brothers: James (Alta) Johnson of Mesa, Arizona, Ray Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Vernon (Jean) Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jessie (Janice) Johnson of Aurora, Kentucky, Carl (Earlene) Johnson of Rochelle; four sisters: Shirley Fields of Rochelle, Faye (Ed Johnson) Knutson of Rockford, Illinois, Patsy (Lanning) Nicoloff of Rochelle and Dianna (Mark) Kime of Valparaiso, Indiana; and 16 grandchildren: Chrissy, Stephanie, Anthony and Arden Williams, Bridgett Douglas, Eric and Kyle Ware, Christopher and Jennifer Purdy, Colton, Zachery and Shawna Patterson, Amber Robins, Hayley, Kylee and Austin Davis and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Visitation will be 1:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorial is to be established.
