Bertha C. Tarkenton, 98 of Rochelle died Friday Dec. 21, 2007 at home. She was born Nov. 12, 1909 in Lyster Station, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Philippe and Alma (Routhier)Cote. She married Howard R. Tarkenton on Oct. 21, 1948 in Norfold, VA.

Bertha was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rochelle and the Rochelle V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Preceded by her husband Howard on Oct. 12, 1987 and 7 brothers Henri Cote, Antonio Cote, Robert Cote, Roger Cote, Alcide Cote, Raoul Cote and Jean Louis Cote. 4 sisters Alda Farnham, Mary Anthenat, Margaret Walters and Rita McNichols.

Surviving-
2 Brothers Bert (Lorraine) Cote of Steward, IL and Jules Emile "Luke"Cote of Rochelle.

2 sisters Monique Cote and Jeannie Rioux both of Rochelle.

Funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday Dec. 24, 2007 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Monday.
