BETTE J. WHALEY, age 77, of Rochelle, Died on Thursday, December 28, 2006 at her home. She was born on December 2, 1929 in Rochelle, the daughter of Ralph and Gladys Withrow Quest. She worked as a book keeper for Sycamore Redi Mix for many years prior to retiring. Over the years Bette attended both the Four Square Church and the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her father on May 13, 1983, her mother on October 21, 2001 and her sister: Barbara Montanus on April 15, 2006.

She is survived by her son: Dennis (Donna) Whaley of Rochelle
2 brothers: Richard (Frances) Quest of Rochelle
Roger (Diana) Quest of Rochelle
2 grandchildren: Donald Eugene Whaley and Kimberly Bradford
2 great grandchildren: Jacob Bradford and Niccole Whaley

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the New Life Four Square Church, 109 S. Washington St., Rochelle with the Rev. Ken Erickson officiating.

A memorial has been established to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Burial of the cremains will be at the Lawnridge Cemetery.
