Betty Ann Albers, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Rockford, IL with her children by her side. Betty was born July 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Stanley and Ursula (Dombrowski) Kordowski. On April 8, 1961, she married Sherel D. Albers at St. Marks Catholic Church in Winchester, IL.
Betty had several jobs in her life. She was a waitress at the Beacon Restaurant and the Country
Club in Rochelle, IL. She was also a secretary at Admiral Television in Chicago, IL, Rochelle
Municipal Electric and St. Patrick's Parish Center. Betty taught religious education at St.
Patrick's and helped with several events at the parish. Most importantly, she was a mother
of five children and ran the household while Sherel was over-the-road driving.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherel D. Albers, her daughter, Tina M. Albers, four
brothers: Felix, Stanly Jr., Florian and Erwin Kordowski and two sisters: Arlene Siebers and Ursula Zakrzewski.
Survivors include her four sons: Michael (Maria) Albers of Black Earth, WI, Edward Albers of Pell Lake, WI, Joseph Albers of Longmont, CO and Brian (Lynn) Albers of Climax Springs, MO, daughter from England, Elain (John) Gomez of Rochelle, IL; 20 grandchildren: Anthony (Megan), Jacob (Olivia), Shane, Cole (Suzi), Noah, Matthew, Blake, Nicholas, Joseph, Piper, Charley Albers, Jessica (Nate) Timm, Jodi (David) Johanning, Austin (Kendal), Breanna, Lindsey (Johnny) Rogers and Alec Rains, Seb (Maddie) Gomez, Tasha (Andrew) Haws, Abi (Ryan) Prough; 20 great grandchildren: Cole Jr. Albers, Walker Timm, Keagan and Brooklyn Albers, Genenvieve, Gracie, Parker, Colton, and Rosalie Williams, Ashton Rogers, Ean and Alison Johanning, Oliver, Eloise, Aveline and Emery Prough, Jaxon and Phoenix Gomez, Ben and Charlotte Haws; many special nephews and nieces and many adopted children.
The visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:30 P.M., Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. At the close of the visitation, there will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 on Thursday. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church, 236 Kelley Drive, Rochelle at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 9 with Rev. Nicholas T. Federspiel officiating. Cremation care will follow the service. Burial will be at a later date at St. Patrick Cemetery in Rochelle.
