Betty Rasmussen, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Serenity Home in Oregon, Illinois with her family by her side. Betty was born June 10, 1932 to Ervin Ray and Bertha (Noble) Rickard in Letart, West Virginia. She married Paul C. Lieving on July 27, 1948. He passed away on September 19, 1963. Betty then married Roger W. Rasmussen. He passed away on February 22, 2003. She retired from Caron International when it closed. Betty loved the Lord and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rochelle. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, her daughter, Pat, brother, Roy and five sisters: Louise, Zella, Ada, Edna and Ellen.

Betty is survived by her son, Paul (Kathi) Lieving of Rochelle; son-in-law, Dwight Headley of Ottumwa, IA; sister-in-law, Mary Rickard; five grandchildren: Douglas (Anne) Lieving, Sara (Jason) Osborne, Amy (Scott) Seebach, Terisa (Scott) Sloan and Christopher Headley; and eight great grandchildren: Alexandra, Adabelle and Avery; Lydia; Kyle and Allison and Matthew and Stella; many nieces and nephews and special friends: Betty, Betty and Lorriane.

The visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10 ^th Ave., Rochelle with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice and Home.
