Beulah W. Goptop, age 87, who was known as Boots to all who knew and loved her, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Boots was born on May 13, 1935 in Wayne Co, Missouri, the daughter of George and Mary (Hicks) Marler. Boots married Bill Gobtop in Rochelle on August 7, 1954.

She loved spending time with her extended family and was known to make the best fried chicken! Boots was preceded in death by three sisters: Paulene Elder, Jewel Ward and Virgie Baker.

Survived by her husband Bill, sons: Bill (Starr) and Bob (Mary Murrian),and daughter, Liz (Fred) Brubaker. Boots is also survived by grandchildren: Nick, Ben and Matt (Stacey) Gobtop, and Marybeth (Brendan) Wiuff; brother Earl (Janis) Marler, sister, Lois Utley and several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside burial was held on January 4, 2023 at the Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NorthernIllinoisHospice.org and the Alzheimers Association alz.org.
