William “Bill” Stephen Hickey, 77, passed away on October 2, 2026, in Rochelle, Illinois. He was born on August 19, 1949, in DeKalb, Illinois, the son of Robert Franklin and Lois Eileen (Hart) Hickey.

Bill is survived by his siblings, Mary Goken of Rochelle, Charles (Linda) Hickey of Somonauk, Robert Hickey of Rochelle, Michael (Veronica) Hickey of Amboy, Ellen (Mark) Hazzard of Winnebago, Barbara Whitesel of Rochelle, Lawrence (Jody) Hickey of Winnebago, and Patrick (Susan) Hickey of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews and 26 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph Hickey; two brothers-in-law, Paul Goken and Homer Whitesel and one niece Brenna Hickey.

Public visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church in Lee, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 noon at the church with Father Okoro officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Lee, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church in Lee.
