Robert "Blackie" Burright, 81 of Rochelle, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011 at his home with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and two beloved dogs at his side. He was born on June 4 1930 in Chana, IL to Charles and Viola (Hardesty) Burright.
Blackie married Shirley H. Bergman on Oct. 15, 1954 in Clinton, IA. Blackie owned and operated his own wholesale business. Preceding him in death were an infant son: Thomas and brothers: Orville and Charlie.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of Rochelle; son: Robert Burright Jr. of Cherry Valley;
daughter: Kayla (Larry) Harris of Rochelle; brother: "Butch" Burright of DeKalb, IL;
sister: Helen Pifer of Bentonville, AR; grandchildren: Tonya (Lonnie) Sarver, T.J. Harris, Shantel Burright, Christine Burright and Kassie Burright, 8 great grandchildren, and two dogs: Mickey and Minie.

Services at Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle on Monday, August 15, 2011 at11:00 AM
with Chaplain Judy Williams. Visitation will be prior to the services at Unger-Horner on Monday at 10:00 AM. Burial at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle with military honors by VFW Post 3878. A memorial has been established.
