Rev. Bob Waddell Sr., 70, of Creston, IL went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday May 25, 2008 at Northwoods Health Care Center Belvidere, IL. He was born Dec. 6, 1937 in Bulls Gap, Tenn. the son of Eugene R and Nellie (Young) Waddell. He married Nancy E. Henderson Feb. 27, 1960 in Greeneville, Tenn.

He was a member of the New Beginings Baptist Church in Creston.
Preceded by infant daughter Amelia Gaye Waddell and two sisters Edna Jefferies and infant sister Shelby Jean Waddell.

Bob worked for Spaulding Fibres in DeKalb for 36 years before retiring in 1998. He served as Pastor for Park Manor Baptist Church in Dixon from 1976 - 1980, the 1St Baptist church in Creston from 1980 to 1984, and New Hope Baptist church in Rochelle from 1990 to 1995.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Nicole Waddell of Creston,
three sons Jeff (Susan) Waddell of Sycamore, IL, Bobby (Lori) Waddell of Creston and Brad (Michele) Waddell of Oak Lawn, IL and a sister Betty Rhoads of Rochelle.

8 Grandchildren: Kristin, Joshua, Seth, Cole, Mason and Zane Waddell and Katherine (Andy) Kettleson and Ashli (Garrett) Schoenholz.

Funeral services will be held Wed. May 28th 11:00 a.m. at Unger-Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Robertson officiating. Visitation Tuesday from 5 to 8 at Unger-Horner.

In Lieu of flowers a Memorial has been established.

Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens Cemetery.
