Obituary

Omaha, Nebraska

Bonnie Rae (Edwards) Seigel, age 68, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones at the Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, on Monday, Jan. 12th, 2015. Beautiful Bonnie was born on March 31, 1946 in DeKalb, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph "Budd" and Clara "Dolly" (Erickson) Edwards. Bonnie poured much of her life into raising her four daughters. Her greatest desire for them was that they would give their lives wholeheartedly to following Christ. He was her reason for living, and she longed for everyone who came into her path to come to know Him.
Bonnie's trademark was putting her all into everything her hand touched – whether at work at Werner Enterprises, Scheels, or Red Mango Yogurt Company or in baking the best German & Norwegian Christmas treats ever (Spritzgebakenes & Krumkake), Bonnie gave it her all. Bonnie authored numerous books and wrote powerful poetry that was known for ministering to people in times of need or inspiring them in times of joy.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph Edwards and sister, Cheri (Edwards) Schneider.
Survived by her 4 daughters: Brigitte (John) Howard, Sabina (Rob) Featherston, Katja (Jonathan) Starkey, and Martina (John) Drewes; 16 cherished grandchildren; mother, Dolly Edwards; brother, Loren (Rosemary) Edwards, brother-in-law, Don (Marsha) Schneider and six amazing nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Emmanuel Fellowship in Omaha, Nebraska, on Thursday evening, January 15, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Creston, Illinois with Pastor Ron Larsen officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Though her earthly body will be placed at Woodlawn Cemetery, Creston, Illinois, we know that she has been rejoicing in the presence of her Creator since Monday.
