Obituary

Brandon Dodrill, age 40, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away in a tragic apartment fire in his home
on March 31, 2024. Born on June 18, 1983, to Kathy and Ron Dodrill in Hinsdale, IL.  He grew up as a sports fan of all sports and loved playing soccer, baseball, golf and bowling. Like many in his family, he was a huge Chicago Cubs fan throughout his life. His sports passion was so deep that he became a walking encyclopedia on all sports. But bowling was his dream. He had to overcome so many obstacles and injuries, but he made a great life with the bowling community and traveled the country with his teammates bowling tournaments. He loved it.

Brandon worked in the fast food business until he found his forever home at Crest Foods. It was the perfect place for someone dedicated to working hard and caring about his peers and his employer. Brandon loved his family, his friends, walking on the beach, golfing and bowling.
To say someone left a legacy at age 40 can be questionable, but not when it comes to Brandon. He was a role model for deciding what you want, going after it, working as hard as you can to make it happen, and lifting others up along the way. Brandon was a selfless giver, always there
to help with a smile on his face and he would give up anything to help others. He was a rare combination of kindness and toughness. We are so proud of him for all he did for so many in his lifetime. He couldn't have been a better grandson, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend.

He is survived by his mom, Kathy Dodrill (Bob Williams); sister, Barbara (TR) Thompson; brothers: Craig and Randy Dodrill; aunt, Jan Schmidt (Jeff Henry); uncles: Roy Schultz, Jr. and Greg Schmidt; three nieces and one nephew: Makayla, Arianna, Danica and Callen. He was preceded into death by his dad, Ron Dodrill.
