Edna A. "Bunny" White, 75, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Illinois. Bunny was born September 16, 1938 in Flagg Center, Illinois to Clyde A. and Rose M. (Hintzsche) Schaneberg. She attended Ashton Schools and spent a year of her high school education in Panama. She married Earl White Jr. on December 29, 1961 in Rochelle, IL. He preceded her in 2006. Bunny had the opportunity to work for a wide variety of employers including the Rochelle Savings and Loan, Quinn's Jewelry, Dr. Bailey's office and Barker's Pharmacy. Bunny enjoyed many handicrafts, especially sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Louise, Rao and Dola; three brothers: Bob, Leroy and Dennis and a daughter-in-law, Marsha White. The family would like to thank Dr. Persaud, Diane Swanson, the staff of San Gabriel, Bethany Healthcare, and Serenity Home and offer a special thank you to Dawn for her laughter and fellowship.
She is survived by five children: Gerald (JoAnne) Wiltfang of Rockford, Deann (Dean) Svela of Steward, David White of Rochelle, Mark (Kelly) White of Rochelle, and Jeff White of Rockford; three siblings: William (Opal) Schaneberg of Franklin Grove, Shirley Webb of Ashton and Tim (Jill) Schaneberg of Texas; ten grandchildren: Stephanie and Eric Wiltfang, Matthew (Andrea) Svela, Chelsey (Austin) Stolte, Micah Svela, DJ and Cullen White, Mark II and Lindsey White and Kaylie Clark and three great grandchildren: Bentley and Emma Svela and Sofia White.
The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:45 P.M. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Serenity Hospice and Home.
