Clarence "Butch" J. Everest, age 73, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was born on April 8, 1940 in Ashton Township, IL, the son of Theodore and Leona Smith Everest. Butch married Penny Jean Lee on October 12, 1987, she preceded him in death on November 24, 2003. He was a member of the Crossroad Community Church. Butch loved spending time with his family, fishing and was a collector of Indian memorabilia.

Survived by his children: Lee (Pam) Everest of Annapolis, MO; Sheila (Steve) Allen of Greenville, MO; Nikie (Joe) Harper of Tremonton, UT; Joseph (Nicole) Lee of Sycamore; Misty Cutshaw of Sterling; Dora (Pall) Hathwell; and Dorie (Brian) Hinrichs of Rochelle; 29 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother, Theodore Everest of Florida; and 2 sisters: Nancy (Richard) Blume of Homosassa Springs, FL, and Gloria Patterson of Pekin, IL.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 3:30 - 4:30 PM at the Crossroads Community Church. Memorial service will be at 4:30 PM on Thursday at the Crossroads Community Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family. Unger Horner Funeral Home has assisted the family with cremation rites.
