Carl James Brown, 75, of Steward, IL passed away early at his home Saturday September 24, 2011. He was born May 3, 1936 on the home farm in Steward the son of Orin Milo and Florence (Furman) Brown. He graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1956. Carl married Shirley Jean Johnson Sept. 16, 1956 at the Steward Methodist Church and he was a Steward area farmer. He was a member of the Steward Methodist Church. Over the years Carl had sold Pioneer seed corn, was a real estate agent for Hayden Real Estate and enjoyed his antique cars and tractors. Carl was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Gerald and Orin Bert Brown; 1 sister: Frances Harrolle.
Carl is survived by his wife Shirley. 1 son: David Brown of Steward; 1 daughter: Karen (Jay) Kissack Algonquin, IL; 5 grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Hall, Shawnna and Casey Brown, Logan and Dylan Kissack; 1 sister: Betty Isley of Rochelle.
Funeral Service will be held 10:30 AM Wed. Sept. 28, 2011 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Visitation from 4-8 PM on Tuesday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home. Memorial funds established to the Steward United Methodist Church, or the American Cancer Society. Burial will be in Steward Cemetery.
