Carol Ann (Schuler) Hoelzer, age 69, of Rochelle, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 11, 1956, in Rochelle, Illinois, Carol was the youngest of four children born to Dallas D. Schuler and Dorothy (Copeland) Schuler. She was affectionately known as "Little Red" for her striking red hair and her spirited personality.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Christine Schuler; her brother, Delmonte D. Schuler; her niece, Dallas Rae Schuler; and her brother-in-law, Buck Hoelzer.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Michael Hoelzer; her daughter, Brandi Ann Campos (Chris) of Rochelle; and her son, Matthew Hoelzer of Franklin Grove. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Parker Campos, Landon Hoelzer, and Michael D. Hoelzer.
She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Schuler of Rochelle and Deborah Beck (Robert) of Greeneville, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Toni Schuler of Rochelle; and her sister-in-law, Sherry Hoelzer. Carol was a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews: Steven Beck of Wilson, NC; Travis Schuler (Haley) of Savanna, IL; Jennifer Beck (Liesl) of Rochelle; Kelly Burdin (Jason) of Rochelle; Tracy Jones (Jeff) of Monroe Center; Ashley Jackson of Rochelle; and Heather Hoelzer of Byron, IL — as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Carol worked for many years at General Electric in DeKalb, where she was known for her dedication and warmth. Outside of work, she treasured time with her family and friends. She especially cherished her grandchildren and took great joy in being a part of their lives. Carol also loved riding on the back of a Harley-Davidson with her husband Mike — sharing countless adventures and quiet country roads together.
Her love, laughter, and unwavering support will be missed by all who knew her.
