Carolyn Schabacker, age 76 of Chana, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009
in the comfort of her own home. She was born on Aug. 6, 1932 in Chicago, IL , the daughter of Francis (Drake) and Bennie Adcock. Carolyn married Conrad "Coonie" Schabacker on June 7, 1952, he preceded her on October 22, 2007. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and many of St. Paul's organizations. Carolyn was an original member of the Unger's Ladies Bowling Team. Along with many years of farming, Carolyn also worked at the answering service at the RCH, and for Sullivian's Grocery in Rochelle. She was also a crafty person, often painting sweatshirts, saw blades, mailboxes, and many other projects. Carolyn was a Real people person.

Survivors include 2 sons: Terry (Deb) Schabacker and Tom (Valerie) Schabacker both of Chana; a daughter: Karen Lowry of Rochelle,6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Brother Donald (Phyllis) Adcock, sister: Marge (Joe) Peppito, step-sister: Marilyn Murphy.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on, Monday, January 26, 2009 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle, with Rev. Greg Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle.
Burial will be at Flagg Center Cemetery.
