Carter Stephen Shaw, born on August 24th, 2026, and departed on the same day. Born in Rockford, Illinois, Carter was son of Laura and Brandon Shaw, who reside in Rochelle, Illinois.

Carter is survived by his loving parents, Laura and Brandon Shaw; brother, Kemper Shaw; Pop-Pop, Dennis Shaw; grandparents, Stephen and Jean Butz; and his uncles: Chuck Butz and David Shaw. Carter was preceded in death by his grandma, Lisa Shaw; great-grandparents, Marilyn and Rolland Bonneau; great aunt, Lynn Bonneau; and his cousin, Frank Bonneau.

I hope heaven knows what it has in you.. Because down here, the missing you never ends and I still look for you in places you should be.

I wonder if you see me.. and I hope the words I speak to you in my heart somehow make their way to you.

I imagine that you are somewhere beautiful, with no pain, no fear, no hurt or headache.. Just the peace you always deserved.

And I hope you know that I still carry you with me in all that I do because you don't just live in heaven.. You still live on in me.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M with prayer service beginning at 5pm. Cremation care provided by Unger Horner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Guest book at www.UngerHorner.com
