Catherine M. McGill, 87, of Rochelle, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Rochelle, Illinois. She was born February 22, 1926 in Flagg Township, IL the daughter of William and Jennie (Schmidt) Smith. She married Harold Thomas McGill on October 9, 1946 in Custer, South Dakota. He preceded her on December 15, 1974.

Catherine was also preceded by her parents, 2 sisters: Norma Cole and Mabel Moland and 1 grandchild, Jeff Ewald.

Catherine is survived by her son; David McGill of Rochelle; two daughters: Cheri (Jack) Stienmetz of Petersburg, IL and Wanda (Gary) Haub of West Brooklyn, IL; two sisters: Dorothy Foss of Machesney Park, IL and Verda "Loi" (Ralph "Lefty") Jury of Belvidere, IL; five grandchildren: Tricia (Ty) Turek, Jennifer Haub, Andrea (Corey) McLaughlin, Michael McGill and Catherine McGill; and 5 great-grandchildren: Madison McGill, Gabriel McLaughlin,
Ryan Gronewold and Olivia and Sophie Turek.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday April 25, 2013 at Unger-Horner Funeral Home 400 N. 6th St. Rochelle, Illinois. The visitation will be held the same day from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Serenity Hospice and Home. Burial of cremated remains will be Friday April 26, 2013 in the Ashton Cemetery.
