Cecile K. Bales, age 90, a wonderful loving grandmother , passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born on July 27, 1920 in Rochelle, IL, to Carl S. And Alva K. (Attabury) Krigbaum. Cecile married Howard A. Bales on Dec. 7, 1950 in Centralia, IL and he preceded her on Oct. 18, 2007. She was also preceded by her daughter: Nancy Hunter on April 17, 1979. She had been employed as a secretary for Swift and Co. from the first day it opened until the day it closed.

Survivors include 3 grandchildren: Mary (Ron) Arne of Rochelle; Rob (Susan) Hunter of Byron, IL and Edie Hunter of Arkansas; 5 great grandchildren: Maggie Hunter, Vance Hunter, Brittany Schmitt, Maxwell Arne and Nels Arne; 2 great great grandchildren; Scarlett and Cecilia Schmitt; a sister: Evelyn and brother: Bill, both of California.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites were arranged by Unger Horner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 N 6th St., Rochelle. For those who would like to give a remembrance for Cecile: Memorials can be made to Ogle County Hospice.
