Charles "Doug" Barton, 68, of Rochelle, IL; loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on Feb. 13, 1941 in Marshall, AR, the son of Charles F. and Myrtle (Barnes) Barton. Doug
was raised by his Mother and stepfather: Richard Waltman. He married Roxanne Withrow on Sept. 2, 1961 at the Church of God in Fairfield, IL. He worked for Swift and Co., owned and operated the Derby Gas Station and prior to retiring, worked as a carpenter. Preceding him in death were his parents and stepfather, and a sister: Becky Edie. Doug served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren. His hobbies included gardening, deer hunting, fishing and camping. Doug's generosity knew no bounds.

Survivors include his wife: Roxanne of Rochelle, 2 sons: Curt (Tonya) Barton of Amboy and Clay Barton of Watertown, SD; daughter: Crystal (John Baldwin) West of Clinton, IL; 2 brothers: Rick (JoAnn) Barton of Strafford, MO and Michael (Donna) Waltman of Columbia Falls, MT; sister: Judy Cook of Springfield, MO; her mother-in-law Emma Withrow of Rochelle and 9 grandchildren: Laci Barton, Lani Barton, C.J. Barton, Dillon West, Kyle West, Gage Chipman, Jenna Chipman, Riley Barton, and Justin
Barton.

Services will be held at Unger-Horner Funeral Home, Rochelle, IL on Friday, March 27, 2009
at 10:00 AM with Rev. Angelo Bonacquisti. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on
Thursday, March 26th from 5 to 8 PM. Burial at Trinity Memory Gardens. Memorials to American Cancer Society.
