Charles W. Bloomingdale, 86, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 in Oregon, IL. Charles was born June 12, 1931 to Joseph G. and Edna Maria (Johnson) Bloomingdale in Belvidere, IL. He married Mary Louise Onley on December 2, 1989 in Rockford, IL. Charles owned and operated Bloomingdale Grinding Service for 20 years and he was the Scott Township Road Commissioner for 12 years. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: infant Karl, Joseph and Melvin Bloomingdale; sister: infant, Kristina Bloomingdale.

Charles is survived by his wife, Mary, of Holcomb, IL; five children: Glenda Bloomingdale-Livingston of Davis Junction, IL, Lesa (Doug) Hopkins of Holcomb, IL, Mark (Mary) Bloomingdale of Holcomb, IL, Mary (Randy) Jones of Oregon, IL and Elena (Melvin) Sullivan of Lexington, Texas; three brothers: Marvin Bloomingdale of Belvidere, IL, Dennis (Terry) Bloomingdale of Harlingen, TX and Bruce (Linda) Bloomingdale of Rockford, IL; two sisters: Iona (James) Holeton of Machesney Park, IL and Ila (Everett) Kelley of Rockford, IL; and many many grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6 ^th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 13, at the funeral home with Pastor David Rogula officiating. The burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens.
