Charles Frank Glammeyer, 85 of Chana , IL was called home to be with the Lord Friday, January 17, 2014 at his home. He was born August 6, 1928 in Elberta, Alabama, the son of Frank and Frieda Glammeyer. He married Ada DeAun Gray on August 19, 1950 in Chana, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, DeAun, on October 27, 2012, two brothers: Dick and Daniel and three sisters: Esther, Ramona and Eunice. Charles was an active member and volunteer of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rochelle. He loved gardening, bee keeping, wood working, fishing and spending time with his family. He retired from the Oregon Telephone Company in 1985. Charles and DeAun spent many winter months in Gulf Shores, Alabama, which became their second home.
Charles is survived by his three daughters: Linda (Dr. Robert) Benningfield of Peoria, IL, Janet (Thomas) Fenwick of Broadhead, WI, and Diane (Scott) Lillie of Chana, IL; 10 grandchildren: Robert, Joshua, Jason, Scott, Stephanie, Matthew, Michael, Joseph, Sara, and Rachel and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, JANUARY 27, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. The visitation will be the same day from 9:45 to 10:45 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran School. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
