Charles Linden Summers, Sr., 80 of Rochelle went to be with our Lord on August 16, 2008, while surrounded by his loving family at his daughters home in South Beloit, IL. He was born Feb. 25, 1928 in Macanda, IL the son of Lester and Edna Holmes Summers. He later had a loving stepmother Faye Summers. Charles was married to the love of his life Eva Augustson for 55 years.
Preceded by parents and stepmother.

Charles devoted many years of his life to the Lincoln Avenue Church of God in Dixon, IL. He wrote over 100 songs about his love for Jesus and recorded 2 albums with the Chuck Summers Trio which included his son Lin and friend Clinton Porter. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. For 33 years he worked at Price Brothers Midwest in Rochelle, and retired in 1990.

Charles left his legacy with his family, his wife Edna, 2 sons Charles Linden (Peggy) Summers Jr. of Sterling, IL Arvid Lester (Lisa) Summers of Paducah, KY 2 daughters Janis G. (Neil) Shaw of South Beloit, IL and Katherine J. (Randy) Beach of Kings, IL.

15 grandchildren A.J, Trevor, Penny, Rebecca, Robert, Kayla, Evan, Valerie, Melissa, Philip, Tyler, Candace, Andrew Aaron and Alec. And 5 Great Grandchildren Kierstyn, Devon, Jonathan, Ellery and Charlie.

3 brothers Leland (Phyllis) Summers of Kincaid, IL Richard (Betty) Summers of Dixon, IL and Jimmy (Audrey) Summers of Rochelle, IL and they all enjoyed playing their guitars and singing they referred to it as "Picken and a Grinin".

Charles was a Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, your songs will be forever heard in our hearts and carried on from generation to generation.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August. 19th 11:30 a.m. at Lincoln Ave. Church of God in Dixon, IL. with visitation on Monday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home 400 N. 6th Street Rochelle from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorial to the Lincoln Avenue Church of God.

Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon, IL.
