Charles "Charlie" E. Hynson, age 87, of Rochelle, passed away at the Serenity Home in Oregon on Monday, March 19, 2012. He was born on December 10, 1924 in York, Pennsylvania, the son of Charles L. And Daisy Diehl Hynson. He married Eleanor R. Bain on Dec. 29, 1946 in East Northport, New York.
Charlie was a member of Faith Lutheran church in Rochelle. During WWII he served in the Merchant Marines and U.S. Marine Corp. After working for 40 years as an arborist for Bartlett Tree Service he was a bus driver for the Rochelle School District.
He was preceded by his parents: Charles Hynson, and Daisy Spangler, a brother: Martin Hynson and a sister: Helen Rowe.

Survived by his wife, Ellie Hynson of Rochelle, 3 daughters: Wendy (Bob) Peck of Raleigh, NC, Debra (Bryan Frost) Hynson of Grass Valley, CA and Laurie (Douglas) Gay of Rochelle; son: Peter Hynson of Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren: Aubrey (Pete) Comperatore, Charles (Cora) Watson, Kyle (Miranda) Foster, John Gay and William Gay; and 3 great grandchildren: Alyssa Watson, Rhett Watson, Elijah Foster, and expecting their fourth great grandchild on April 27, 2012.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 24, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Dow. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 12:45 pm Saturday at the church.
Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church or Serenity Hospice.
Cremation rites will follow the funeral services.
