Charlotte A. Lower 79, passed away Sat. July 2, 2011 after an extended illness in Rochelle. She was born Mar. 7, 1932 in Chicago, daughter of Charles and Patricia (Rever) Eytalis Her family moved to Rockford in 1934. There she attended St. Mary's and St. Peter and Paul's Parochial Schools. She graduated from Muldoon High School in 1949. Charlotte went on to graduate from Marquette University Dental School with a degree in Dental Hygiene and was the first Dental Hygienist to work in Rockford. She moved to Rochelle and continued working in Dental hygiene for Dr. Coggeshall. She married Paul Lower, Jr. Sept. 26, 1953 in Rockford, IL. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Choir in Rochelle. She also belonged to Rochelle Friendly Society and The Rochelle Women's Club. Charlotte was an avid bridge player and played with the same bridge group for over 50 years. Charlotte was predeceased by her father, Charles and her mother, Patricia.
Survivors include husband: Paul of Rochelle; sons: Gregory (Renee) of Green Bay, WI and Thomas P. (Deborah) of Rochelle. Grandchildren: Greg (Melissa) Lower, Joshua and Samantha Lower.
Services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rochelle, on Wednesday July 6, 2011 at 10:30 am with Father Steven Lange. Visitation at Unger-Horner Funeral Home on Tuesday July 5, 2011 from 4 to 7 PM. Burial will be at St. Patrick' Catholic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to St. Patrick Catholic Church or Ogle County Hospice.
