Cynthia "Cindy" Lynn Overstreet, 40, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Rock Island, Illinois. Cynthia was born March 29, 1974 to John W. and Carolyn K. (Jones) Overstreet in Opelika, Alabama. She graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1992 and has an Associates Degree from Kishwaukee Community College in Radiologic Technology. She was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa in October 2000 and served as the chapter's Vice-President. Cindy was employed by St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford until her illness. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Rochelle. Her love for Jesus shined through especially singing praises and teaching Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Cindy is survived by her son, Anthony "Tony" Michael Fry, her parents, John and Carolyn Overstreet of Rochelle, her family: Sandra K. (Dan) Tynan, Judy Smith, John E. (Cathi) Overstreet, Caroline Setzer, Alex, Ben, James and Connor Tynan, Zach Smith, Abbie, Marcus , Chloe and Payton Overstreet, Larry (Jan) Overstreet, Wilma (Joe) Cullum, Roxie (Claude) Hawkins, numerous cousins and close friends.

The funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the First General Baptist Church, 500 S. 12th St., Rochelle with Pastor Angelo Bonacquisti officiating. The visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 22 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Ashton Cemetery in Ashton, IL. Memorials may be made to the First General Baptist Church - Benevolent Fund.
