Cleve J. McCandless, 74, of Rochelle, IL passed away Dec. 20, 2009 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1935 in Pocahontas, AR the son of John Arvil and Edna Mae (Tweedy) McCandless. He married Wilma Smart on June 10, 1961 in Rochelle, IL. Preceded by his parents and brother J.D. McCandless and sister Ora Lee Jones. Cleve attended the Harvest Baptist Church of Rochelle. He was employed by Caron International for 34 years.

Survived by: Wife Wilma of Rochelle, 3 children: Clement (Karen) McCandless of Rochelle, Tina (Kent) Lamb of Rochelle and Teresa (Darrell) Reed of Pecatonica, IL.
Sister Sue McCandless, brother Jerry McCandless of Pocahontas AR. 2 sister-in-laws Brenda McCandless of Pocahontas, AR, and Patsy Byrd of Rochelle, IL.
8 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday Dec. 23, 2009 1:00 P.M. at Unger-Horner Funeral Home 400 N. 6th Street, Rochelle, IL with Rev. Duane Boehm. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Unger-Horner Funeral Home. The family requests memorials to St. Judes Children Hospital. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rochelle.
